You just got off the plane yet your journey is not over, there’s still the layover that you need to survive. What does one do when they find themselves stuck at the airport? Fret not there’s actually a ton of things that you can do to fill up your time, especially if you’re lucky enough to be transiting at klia2.
Get Some Shut Eye
The long hours from the flight must made you feel a bit lethargic. Freshen up and rest at one of the hotels that are available at the airport terminal’s premise. Fancy staying inside a container? There’s the Capsule by Container Hotel that you can check out. Prices for a single bed starts at RM85 for six hours. If you’re on transit and spending more time at the Satellite Building, you can head over to the Sama-Sama Express Hotel. For a 6 hour stay, guests are offered a discount rate of RM265 net per person for a Standard room with Lounge access package. The package provides guests with three hours access to buffet meals, complimentary WIFI, shower amenities, flight info display screen and large format display television.
Get Yourself a Spa Treatment
If you’re still feeling a bit weary after that nap how about going on a spa treatment? Give your sore muscles a bit of a treat by booking an appointment at one of the wellness and massage centres in the terminal. Rates for the massage starts at RM63 for a half body massage and can go up to RM188 depending on the package that you pick.
Get Something to Eat
Now that you are refreshed and relaxed, it’s time to eat! At klia2 there’s an array of food for all palates. From local favourites, to Asian delicacies and Western cuisine you can have them all at klia2. One of the speciality shops in klia2 is Agrobazaar, where you can sample and bring back a taste of Malaysia home. Here you can also have an exclusive fruit-dining experience of Malaysian grown and produced fruits.
Get Something for Your Journey
What is travelling without a bit of shopping, right? Your travels will never be complete without it. From shoes, bags, clothes and little knick-knacks you can get them all at the gateway@klia2 and a variety of shops at the Satellite terminal. Currently there are more than 225 retail outlets for you to explore to at klia2. Shop international brands such Barry Smith, Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Tumi, Pedro and Milano. You can also check out Eraman Duty Free and The Zon Duty Free for chocolates, perfume, cosmetics, liquor & tobacco. Besides that, don’t forget to get yourself souvenirs from stores like Spirit of Asia, Country’s Tid-Bits & Candies Cottage, Khazanah and Discover Malaysia.
Get Connected
Don’t ever worry about being disconnected at klia2. Just like the main terminal, the second terminal of KLIA provides free WIFI that passengers can easily access to. If you have a bit of work that needs to be done or are simply trying to communicate with family or friends, just pull out your gadgets and stay connected. If you are not up to doing work, get comfy in one of the movies and sport lounge chairs and catch a relaxing movie or tune in to the latest sports programmes. You can also get comfy with an e-book. The airport provides free eBooks that travellers can easily download using their smart phones. Currently there are a total of 800 eBooks from various genres in English, Malay and Mandarin made available for passengers.
